"A Day in Hell" - DeKalb Gravel Rides (41 or 77 miles)

This is a Rapha event, not FVBSC.  Register for the Chicago gravel rides, intermediate (41 miles) or advanced (77 miles), approximately 60% gravel.   There is no registration fee.

Meet in the Huntley parking lot behind North Central Cyclery.  There are other places nearby to park if the lot is full.  We will roll as a group from that parking lot at 9:00 am.  The gravel doesn't start until Lynch Road at Mile #11.  It starts off fairly worn that progresses to thicker gravel on Harter Road.  Recommend tires as close to 40mm as possible.  There will be sections of asphalt roads mixed in with gravel roads throughout the route.

Most people are doing the 41 mile route, but a few are thinking about 77 miles.  Although we will start off as a group, this is an individual effort anyone that wants to break off from the group is welcome to do so.

The routes below show rest stops in Waterman and Shabbona, compliments of Wally!

RECOMMEND 32mm to 40mm tires (the wider the better, recommend 45-55 psi)
