The Nordic Foxes are inviting FVBSC Members to join in their 32nd Annual Ironwood Trip from Tuesday January 19th to Sunday 24th.  You will need to join the Nordic Foxes Ski Club  nordicfox.org to participate in this trip ($25 for single; $35 for family).
 
This trip is the most fun week for the least amount of money. The Western UP is known for early and large amounts of snow. Our favorite place to ski , ABR is one of the best cross country ski destinations in the Midwest and  is famous for their impeccable trail grooming. From the Indianhead Motel, ABR, Wolverine Trails, and Mecca are all minutes away.  Less than a two hour drive are the Porcupine Mountain Trials, Minocqua Winter Park and the Birkie Trial System as other possible skiing destinations. Three downhill ski areas are also close by. Snowshoeing is always available. 
 
We are once again staying at The Indianhead Motel, 823 E Cloverland  Dr, Ironwood, MI 49938. The cost will be a little higher this year because of the weekend stay and Covid.  Meals will be on our own, probably eating in our rooms.  Visit https://www.bigsnow.com/ for COVID protocols Indianhead MoteI and give Morgan/Linda a call, 906-932-2031 to reserve your room.  No dinners or ski passes are included but we will try to ski  together. On the way up (Mon, 1-18) we might ski at Nine Mile Trail in Wausau and then Winter Park in Minocqua on Tues before arriving at Indianhead.  See Winter Park/Minocqua Ski under Ski Destinations for more info.  More info. to come once we know snow and Covid conditions.  ABR just got 15 inches!
