This is an intermediate gravel ride in Pecatonica, IL 31 miles with 1100 ft. elevation on mostly gravel roads and hilly terrain.  This is a NO DROP ride with an expected overall average pace of 12-14+ mph. We are using the Freeport Bicycle Company's Frostbite 30 route but added a rest stop at mile 17.  Recommend gravel, road or hybrid bikes with a minimum of 32MM gravel tires.  Late fall is the perfect time to ride gravel!  Not too hot, ground is hard, gravel ground down a bit.  Layer up for the wind and cooler temps, but be ready to peel off after you get warmed up.  Pecatonica is just over an hour drive NW of Rockford.

Please also note the following:

• In accordance with Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines, Minimum Social Distancing rules must be followed (strongly recommend more than 6 feet while riding).  Groups limited to 10 riders under Tier 2 Mitigation.

• Any riders wanting to join MUST text me (630-399-8274) prior to 5:00 PM Saturday night confirming they wish to ride. This is so that I know who is planning to join in the event of a last-minute change of start time or cancelation due to weather.  

• For any/all stops, riders must wear a mask to enter public facilities.

• Non-FVBSC Members/Guests:  We encourage riders who do not know about the Club to take us out for a "test ride" or two.  A waiver must be signed by non-Members prior to the ride.
